Sunsets and Iguanas and Sharks

Updated: Dec 11, 2022

Doug is currently enjoying the British virgin islands with Tom and Tom‘s family.

Tom’s daughter discovered during a meal out that iguanas are curious about painted toenails. I won’t go into detail, but the rumor is she kept her feet up during the remainder of her dining experience.

The group is on a mooring ball out in the marina area. One time Doug chose to swim into shore. Another time, as they were taking the dinghy back to the boat, they spotted a shark near the boat. While it was only about 2 to 3 feet long, they were wondering where the mama might be. Not sure that will stop me from snorkeling when I join him in Saint Thomas. However, I may end up jumping up and over his back to feed him to the sharks while I swim away.

During my most recent call with Doug, he was swinging in a hammock and watching the sunset over the sea. Balmy, tropical weather, while Eden Prairie was experiencing its first 8 inch dump of snow.

Kathy, thank you for posting this picture of an iguana looking for painted toenails. I just finished shoveling snow in Eden Prairie, and I’m glad you are going to St. Thomas!

Congratulations on becoming a Shellback! Was it on a military trip or a fun trip?
