The dreaded Baja Bash is the trip up the west coast from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to San Diego. If you google the term, you will find descriptions like “notorious,” “950 miles of constant bashing,” “the ultimate bad plan.”
So it’s time to meet the intrepid crew braving this journey on Lady Slipper. Here are some reports from Captain Doug:
On our way from Cabo San Lucas to San Diego. Kathy just left us and Tom Bergen has rejoined. Cabo had beautiful sunsets and gave us an opportunity to wade on the ocean beach.
Heading to San Diego are captain Doug, Som, Bryan, and Tom. With Tom back aboard, the fishing line came out. Success already.
Some big waves and wind heading out. Calmed down a little later so took advantage of it and bypassed our originally planned stop. Currently anchored at Bahia Asunción.
May the winds be kind to Lady Slipper as she ventures north. Safe travels.
Wow, way to go you brave, fun captain! Wishing you and crew Fairwinds and following seas as you make your thrilling passage.
