It's Monday morning as we pass through downtown Detroit. There are several things we find surprising. The skyline is beautiful, and it looks very pedestrian friendly. We are on the Detroit River, and the most surprising thing is that we saw zero activity or signs of life. The only things that that moved were a 2-car light rail and the water in the river.
Gordy Howe International Bridge
Detroit Red Wings great Gordy Howe has a new bridge being named after him. Howe was a Canadian citizen who played 26 seasons in the NHL with the first 25 seasons with the Red Wings. How went on to play six additional years for the Hartford Whalers of the WHL. He played from 1946-1980.
Gordy Howe Hat Trick
A hat trick is when a player scores three goals in one hockey game. A Gordie Howe Hat Trick is a bit different. It is achieved when a player scores a goal, has an assist, and is involved in a fight in the same game.
I know this post was about the Detroit skyline, but I was mostly paying attention to how you've secured the dinghy to the foredeck. Looks like some great modifications from our first tie down attempt!
